my god. i'm surprised the elections in iraq actually happened. some people going to the polls died, though - i think it was somewhere around forty, though i could be way off, as i wasn't really paying as much attention as i should have to the news. fucking suicide bombers. i hate fundamentalists of any kind, especially the violent ones. but really, is there any other kind of fundamentalist? because when you get to it, fundamentalism always seems to focus on the eradication of some group of sinners or infidels or whatever term they use in any given religion for the ones who just won't go along with their idea of perfect.

you know, there's a difference between good intentions and being so deluded that you're doing the right thing that you get so many people killed and hurt.

i hope it's all worth it to them, though, all the hell it took to get to this point. 1,300 american soldiers, 11,000 iraqi civilians. all dead.

but still. we should never have gotten involved.
